Contract Overview: The Pankhurst Centre archive scoping, 2016

Background: The Pankhurst Centre has a small museum dedicated to the women’s movement, in the Manchester home of the Pankhurst family. Time and attention was needed for the Centre’s own heritage and story, so that it too could be shared and used.

Contract: To scope and survey their archive material held within their iconic building off Oxford Road, Manchester. With the Centre’s director helping to contextualise some of the more unusual material, we delved and dived, boxed and binned masses of material. Over 110 boxes were identified as archival and are now properly boxed and surveyed.

Time: less than 7 days over 2 months

Output: Detailed box list of institutional archives
